New Kid On The Block

So why should you spend your time reading my blog? I'm going to be blunt, brutal and honest. Tell it how it is. One day I might write about my favourite nail polish colour (typical, i know), the next I may write about the Chelsea social scene. Hey, I might even wack in a bit of politics. So there we have it. I might make you think, I may have already put you off. But have a look and judge for yourself and hey and I promise there shall be some pretty pictures.

Back With A Bang

Its been a while, but i'm back and with a bang. And so are Wills and Kate apparently.

Crown Jewels- Condoms of Distinction
..If you have now stopped laughing and you have realised how sickening(-ly sweet/awful) they are, you may be needing one of these..

The quickest way to turn any man into a prince and then a nice, tidy solution that saves the carpet for when you're sober.

What do we want? Christmas! When do we want it? Now!

Outfits courtesy of Primark.
Firstly, a belated merry christmas and happy new year 2011 to all. Christmas is a time for mulled wine, presents, family, celebrating the birth of jesus (for all you religious folk) and stuffing our faces with turkey and mince pies. Alas, you already know this.

As a Londoner myself, i am very much aware of all the fantastic things that go on every day in our spectacular little city, however i am also aware that it is easy not to take full advantage. So, when a friend suggested to me that i would be a stark raving lunatic if i missed out on the opportunity to dress up as a santa (or mrs claus in my case) and parade around london with thousands of other santa's, i thought, what have i got to lose?

Needless to say, it was one of the best day's in London I have ever had- I met some crazy, hilarious people (see below for evidence), drunk far too much cider, sang far too many santa themed carols and did something i will remember even when i am old and wrinkly

A rather unconventional "Santa"

Santacon and christmas have now come and gone, but I promise to inform you of the next santacon, or any event like it. These are opportunities for the young and old alike, that are not to be missed.

This Time For Africa

2010: People in the Western world live in a capitalist, consumer driven society where we have had instilled into us to put our needs before the needs of others (for the most-part). Therefore, is it really our fault that we don't necessarily consider the consequences associated with what we consume? I am not criticising anyone in this article, everyone needs to make a living and can do so as they please, as that would make me a hypocrite. However, the small- yet valid point that I am trying to make is that so often, we can make a difference to those who live without the luxuries we are so accustomed to, by doing so very little.
"One" bottled water is a brand, un-like Evian or Volvic that does not simply put your precious cash straight into their pockets. All the profit made through the sale of this bottled water is put into creating 'play-pumps' in Africa that generate healthy, safe, clean water for the villagers whilst the children play on it. Hereby, the community therefore benefits from a sustainable, near-by water supply that they are desperately in need of as over 1 billion people worldwide don't have access to clean water.
(And as it has been scientifically proven that there is no difference between the brands of bottled water, by simply opting to buy this bottle instead of one of the more well-known brands, you can help people without even realising.)

hardlyeverwornit.com

For all fashionistas, this site is a must for all sweet-toothed designer lovers. Cheap, authentic and gorgeous items means i have already emptied my HSBC account and hit up my student loan to soothe my on-going obsession. It also helps that it's run by a lovely women who sent me a free (!!) Gucci wallet as I was her first ever customer. My new Miu Miu hot pink wallet has been a welcome addition to my never ending wardrobe and the stunning Louis Vuitton wallet will be a charming addition to my mothers for her xmas present! And because im such an amiable person I am choosing to share this incredible tip with you all- happy hunting!

Chipper

Pretty Colours
Hands say a-lot about a person, particularly in regards to their age and their personal upkeep. That's why everyone should buy OPI's start to finish. Yes- I am aware that I sound like someone from QVC, (please buy my product, pretty please- there's only 4 left!) (hmm..) but- it is a truly sizzling little find. Apply it properly and you shall have dainty, perfect un-chipped nails for a good few days. Happy Times.

Rolling Around In Mud

I've been to a fair few festival's in my years, Glasto's, Reading, Secret Garden and more recently- the weird and wonderful Bestival. It was indeed a "laff and a half"- however, i am now sitting here with snot dribbling from mynose and a cough to rival a TB patient.

So, are festival's really worth it? Many would say no and you can't really blame them: The extreme lack of sleep, being awoken at 6am by your neighbours threatening to sh*t in your tent and the horrific getting there and back are certainly a reason to scare off the timid. But, amidst the mud and severe sleep deprivation, it is hard not to meet the most strange, eccentric, wonderful people. Amazing music, warm cider, burgers for breakfast, lunch and dinner and an amazing, crazy atmosphere make it a brilliant experience. And with band's playing with names like Loose Moose, Carrie Boom and Sam and the Wong it's hard not to have a laugh, especially if you got the extreme honour of being jabbed with my newly acquired "poking wand". (no sexual pun intended!) So, goodbye summer and goodbye festivals, we shall all miss you.

The Unexpected

Emma and Tea
Tea
Life always changes when you least expect it to. Whether this is because of receiving good or bad news or because of an action that you have done, or shouldn’t have done.  The day before yesterday, I lost the dream flat I found, but my long lost half sister found me, so in the space of a day, my life had changed pretty dramatically. I am now a sister and an aunt, not only Tamsin the only child which I have become so used to over the past 19 years. So what’s the moral of this story? Life can be crazy, unexpected and exciting one day and the next total mayhem. Oh, and most landlords are bastards.
